Creating Church POV Content That Actually Helps People
If you serve in church running tracks, leading worship, or calling cues, you’re already sitting on great content. Not for clicks, but for helping people grow. POV content lets others see what ministry looks like up close.
How do you create church content?
Use what’s already happening. No need to stage anything. Just press record.
Film clips during rehearsal, transitions, soundcheck, or team prayer. Use your phone or a GoPro Hero. Let it capture what you see and hear.
Here are a few ideas:
A quick walk from greenroom to stage
Calling a set live
Pre-service planning with your team
Your MD view during worship
To see an example, check out this POV video. It’s simple and clear.
You don’t need to overthink it. Just ask, “Would this help someone else lead better?” If yes, post it.
Is it legal to record a church service?
Yes. Just make sure you cover a few basics:
If you include worship, make sure your church has a CCLI streaming license
Ask permission before filming someone close-up
Don’t post full sermons without asking your pastor
Let your team and congregation know if recording will happen
Always lead with respect. Your goal is to help, not overstep.
What equipment do I need to create POV content?
Here’s what I recommend if you want to build a solid setup:
GoPro Hero for wide POV shots
EUCOS 62" Phone Tripod for stable recording
Roland GO:MIXER PRO-X for pro-level audio
But here’s the truth. You don’t need to buy anything to start.
If all you have is your phone, use it. Some of my best clips came from just hitting record on what I already had. Consistency and heart matter more than gear.
Other helpful tools:
Wireless mic for voiceover or side commentary
Ring light if you film indoors or in low light
CapCut or InShot for editing on your phone
Start small. Stay consistent. Serve your audience with what you know and what you’re already doing.
